Summer Drinks Recipes

With beach days, picnics, barbecues, and all kinds of fun in the sun, it’s no secret that summer is the best time of the year. A drink with an umbrella is nice in February, but you aren’t fooled. So while it’s still summer, try some of these refreshing, and summery recipes.

Blueberry Mojitos

  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries, plus more for garnish
  • 1 lime, halved lengthwise and sliced
  • 12 mint leaves, plus 4 mint sprigs for garnish
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 6 ounces of white rum
  • 1 and 1/2 cups sparkling water

The Palomaesque Cocktail

  • 1 ounce smoky mezcal, like Del Maguey Vida Mezcal
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 1/2 ounces Cocchi Americano (Italian aperitif wine)
  • 1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice
  • 1 1/2 ounces seltzer

  • thin lemon slice

Rubarb Strawberry Margaritas

  • 1 1/2 cups (~185 g) chopped rhubarb (green stems removed)
  • 1 1/2 cups (~230 g) hulled, sliced strawberries
  • 3 Tbsp (37 g) organic cane sugar*
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) water
  • optional: 1 Tbsp orange juice (for natural sweetness and a slight orange flavor)
  • 1/4 cup + 1 Tbsp (~75 ml) strawberry rhubarb syrup
  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) lime juice
  • 1 ounce (2 Tbsp or 30 ml) silver tequila
  • 1-2 tsp agave nectar, plus more to taste
